Nzy series, a time management game where you have to meet different, and sometimes conflicting, goals like owning five goats or baking 10 cakes. The previous Farm Frenzy Pizza Party may have gotten too complicated for some players, and Farm Frenzy 3 takes a big jump backwards in gameplay, while adding more of a story and some international locations. Sadly, though, the result is also a step backwards in fun. It’s still a playable game, but it lacks the charm of earlier titles.

Series from the beginning. The graphics were simple and the animals were goofy, but the gameplay was great. Farm goals were easy to understand, and every level offered a choice of strategies that kept things interesting. The best part about it was the replayability. You had to really push yourself to get a gold on every level, and studying subtle points to shave a few more seconds off was an incentive to play some levels seven or eight times, stretching an already long game into a master course that could take weeks to finish.

. That moved a little away from the "think fast, click fast" fun of the original by adding very complex recipes. Even the most dedicated FF fans had to play with recipe cards stacked by the side of the keyboard, because no one could remember exactly what went into each flavor.

Farm Frenzy 3 has dropped all that. Most products have only two ingredients, and even the most complex is easy to learn. To increase variety, you play on ingredients different continents, so although there’s an egg layer on each farm, the animals vary from Geese to Penguins.

Graphics are more sophisticated, dropping the 2-D cartoon style for 3-D character drawings with shadows and highlights. Each type of animal eats differently, and watching a penguin flip a fish into the air to catch it is impressive.

But the game itself falls flat compared to earlier versions. First, the more complex graphics really slow down rendering, particularly when items are falling from the sky. Buy nine penguins or get attacked by four lions and everything just stops while the screen slowly redraws itself.

The add-on story slows things down further, with cut-scenes that seem like a clone of every other "plucky young girl takes on corporate bad guy" plot. And the depictions of people from other countries vary from strange to offensive. A woman from Antarctica says things like "Me vote for you." The African farmer on the map is a bad stereotype from a 1930’s children’s book, complete with a bone through his nose. I was annoyed every time I came back to the map.

In another strange design decision, the helper dogs blow themselves up kamikaze style when they attack bears, instead of just barking to build cages as they did before. As a dog lover, I found this irritating, and I ended up not buying dogs unless I absolutely had to. Again, something that was quirky fun in an earlier title ended up slowing down the game in an unpleasant way this time around.

I also found most levels were impossible to get gold the first time, because I didn’t have all the upgrades I needed. This made the first 30 or 40 levels feel like a tutorial, because I couldn’t get to my real strategies until I had the upgrades purchased. In earlier titles if I missed a medal it was because I hadn’t figured out the correct strategy, and going back was challenging. Here I felt I was set up to fail the first time through, and I just had to slog my way on until I finally had the stronger cage or the bigger warehouse and could go back and do it right.

If you’re serious about getting gold on every level, you can still dig down to the heart of the FF series: lots of strategy choices, and easy ways to test them as you work your way towards perfection. But I only felt compelled to keep playing this time because of my experiences with previous FF games. If this had been the first in the series, I don’t think I would have bothered replaying levels multiple times to get the gold.

The issues with the game will be obvious in the first 10 levels, so you should be able to tell from the demo whether you’ll enjoy it or not. This nine step tutorial shows how to draw a cartoon cat. It includes simple illustrated examples and easy to follow drawing tips.

The cat drawing used as the example is fairly simple but still has a good amount of details as to not look too plain. You can see a preview of all of the included drawing stages in the image above.

It’s recommended that you start in pencil and make light lines so that you can easily correct any mistakes. You can darken them before coloring (in step eight).

Begin the drawing by outlining the shape of the cat’s head. Be sure you position it in a way that you still have enough room to add the ears and the body.

Draw a half circle like curve for the top of the head and a smaller curve for the bottom. Between these two curves you can add some teeth like jagged edges. These will be little fur clumps sticking out from the cheeks.

Add the outer part of the body/front legs by drawing two curved lines that go down from the bottom of the head. Inside these lines draw two more curves for the inner shape of the legs. Make these curves about half the length of the first set. At the bottom of the legs draw the feet (similar to ovals in shape) and connect them with a line to show the bottom of the body.

Defining “cat” Without The Cat

Add the back legs by drawing yet another pair of curves. These should go down down from slight above the halfway point of the front legs/body. At the bottom of these draw the back feet with shapes similar to the front feet but slightly flatter at the bottom. They should also be partially hidden behind the front legs.

Draw the tail with a slight curve. It’s shape should be similar to a peeled banana. Draw the ears sticking out in slightly different directions (away from one another). Make them wider at the base and narrower as they go up.

After you have the ears outlined draw a line going up along each of their inner sides. This will help show that the ears have a curve to their shapes and are not just flat.

How To Draw An Easy Black Cat

For this step start by drawing the nose followed by the top part of the snout. Position these a little bit less than a third of the way up from the bottom of the face.

Draw the nose similar to a triangle but with rounded sides/corners. From the top corners of this “triangle” the nose draw two oval like shapes that meet at it’s bottom corner. These will be the upper part of the snout. Draw the bottom of the snout with just one curved line.

Finally from the upper part of the snout draw two curves that go towards the upper end of the fur clumps from step one. These will define the cat’s cheeks.

Draw the eyes with almond like shapes pointing towards the nose. Their bottoms should be slightly covered by the cheeks. Inside each eye draw the irises and inside each iris outline a small oval shaped reflection (slightly to one side).

To make the cat look a little more interesting first add some fluff inside it’s ears. Draw these as large pointy clumps. Next show the individual toes by adding some curves along the feet (as shown in the example).

To finish the line drawing first add some whiskers going out from the upper part of the snout. Once done with this last lset of details you can trace over your lines with either a black pen or marker. Alternatively you can also simply darken them with the pencil.

Instead, it’s better for you to consider the feline anatomy as a whole, just as you would if you were drawing a human. And just like the human body, cats can be simplified to a series of geometric shapes and sweeping lines.

The good news is that you don’t need to know every last joint, muscle and bone in a cat’s body to know how to draw one – instead, follow our simple steps below, and you’ll be able to capture the essence of the animal with no trouble at all.

Draw three circles as you see them below. Notice that, of the two bigger circles, the one on the right is just a tiny bit smaller than the one on the left.

Now, we’re going to start bringing our moggie to life. Add sweeping outlines to the leg shapes, treating the upper sections almost like breeches, while making the lower sections narrow. You can draw little boxes for the paws.

This is the trickiest part of the drawing. While the cat’s body should be made up of tapering lines, its head should be constructed with straight lines, except for the brow, which should be drawn with a concave shape. The ear should be positioned just right of centre. Add a triangle for the cat’s eye.

Now for the fun part: we can turn our collection of shapes into an actual feline. If you have a second, harder pencil, use that to draw a series of soft lines around the silhouette to suggest the cat’s fur. Maybe it’s a short-haired moggie; maybe it’s a long-haired Persian.

Make sure you turn that wormy tail into something wispy. Soften the hard details of the head with some soft edges, especially the tips of the ears. A second triangle can be added for the inside of the ear.

We’ve got this far, so let’s add some basic shading, and the two remaining legs. Also add a second ear, and a horizontal line for a simple bit of context. Draw in a narrow slit for the cat’s pupil. And finally… don’t forget those whiskers!

This tutorial shows how to draw the full female anime body. It provide suggestions for what proportions you should use along with detailed step by step drawing examples.

You can see the main stages of the drawing in the preview example above. There are also many more illustrations throughout the tutorial that provide the proportions and close up examples of the smaller parts of the body (to make them easier to see).

Please note that this particular guide is for an average looking high school or adult anime/manga female. The proportions for kids are generally different.

If you are going to be following along it’s recommended that you make the drawing as large as you can to make it easier to add the small details. Unless drawing digitally start in pencil and make very light lines that you can easily erase as you will need to do so in some of the steps.

First draw a straight vertical line through the middle of your drawing area. This will act as a guide to help insure that the body is not skewed to one side. As the drawing is symmetrical the line can also help you see if both halves of it are even in width.

Towards the upper end of this line draw the head. Place it in a way where you have bit of room at the top (if you wish to add the hair) and plenty of room at the bottom for the rest of the body.

To make it easier to structure the head you can first draw a circle for it’s upper part and then add the lower part onto that as shown in the example above. You can erase the lower part of the circle once done.

As this is an anime character be sure to make the lower half of the head quite small and give it a fairly pointy chin.

Going down from the head add the neck and body. However, before you start with this part of the drawing you should read the explanation below.

One way to measure the overall size of the body (with the legs) is in relation to the head. In this particular drawing it will be six and a half heads high. As mentioned at the start of the tutorial these kinds of proportions can work quite well for some of the more common/average female anime characters such as high school students and adults.

You may notice that in the above illustration the feet go slightly past the bottom of the measuring line. This is not a mistake but is done to account for “eye level”.

In this example the feet are well below the level of the viewers eyes so they will appear to go farther down than they actually are. Measuring the height from the tips of the toes to the top of the head would be similar to measuring your height by stretching a measuring tape from the tips of your toes to the center of the top of your head. The measurement wold be off.

Drawing Base Of Realistic Figures?

To get the correct measurement in this case you would want to estimate where the heels start and go from there (as is done in the example).

Please note that these are just recommendations for getting a generic anime look. The proportions of anime characters can vary depending on many factors including the style of the artist.

For the actual process of drawing the body start with the neck and shoulders. Afterwards outline each of the sides leaving openings between them and the shoulders for the arms. Overall the body should be shaped a bit like an hourglass where it’s narrower near the middle and gets wider as it goes up and down.

For this step add the upper parts of the legs as shown above. You will want make these wider at the top and narrower as they go down with a bit of a curve in the overall shape of each of them. However, you will again first want to read the explanation below before drawing.

In the above example you can see that the legs are roughly as long as the head and body combined and that the knees are positioned about halfway between the bottom of the body and the bottoms of the feet. Be sure to keep these relations in mind when you draw.

Draw the lower part of the legs in a way where they first get wider as they go down and then get narrower towards the feet. The part where they get narrower as they go down should be taller than the part where they get wider.

Before adding the feet draw what looks like a pair of bumps on each side of each leg to show the bones that stick out in those areas.

Going down from the “bumps” outline the feet with their shapes getting wider towards the bottom. At this stage draw the toes as one combined shape that’s a bit narrower than the foot (you can see a larger drawing of the feet at the end of step 9).

Coming out of the openings between the shoulders and body add the upper parts of the arms. However, once again you should read below before you start drawing.

How To Draw An Anime Boy Body

It’s a bit difficult to measure the proportions of the arms. Generally you can make the area from roughly the end of the curve of the shoulder to the part where the arm bends the same length as from the bend to the wrist.

Draw the lower parts of the arms similar to the lower part of the legs where they first get wider as they go down and then get narrower again. The wrists should reach to about the bottom of the body. As in this case the arms are held slightly to the sides they will be a little bit higher up.

Outline the overall shape of each hand without the smaller details (these will be added later on). In this case the hands will be closed into fists but not clenched. Instead they will point slightly outwards to create a somewhat feminine pose.

Start with the chest area by adding the collar bones and the breasts as shown above. Draw the collar bones with a little bit of a gap between their inner ends and with their outer ends pointing towards the shoulders.

Draw the breasts just slightly overlapping the sides of the body. You can erase a little bit of the body’s outline when adding them in.

You can see a step by step breakdown of drawing the fingers above. First outline the thumb and the index finger and then show just a int of the other fingers and the palm.

When drawing the details of the feet you use the outline from the earlier step as a guide and then draw the individual toes inside it as shown above.

Once you have the toes drawn out you can add the toenails as shown above. Be sure to draw the big toenail slightly higher in relation to it’s toe than the rest to show that the big toe is thicker.

As the focus of the tutorial on the body drawing the face, hair, swimsuit and shading is optional and will not be covered in very great detail.

For adding the hair you will want to draw it over top of the head starting with the part shown in red (front section), followed by the green (side sections) and blue (top/background section).

To finish you can add a fairly simple swimsuit as shown above. As swimsuits of this type are generally fairly tight most of it’s shape will be defined by the body. You can simply outline the openings for the neck, arms and legs. You can also give the swimsuit a bit of shading (or color) to make it stand out more.

Drawing the full body of an anime character such as this one can be a challenge if you don’t know how to go about it. However, by following the guide outlined in this tutorial you can make the process much easier. The most important thing to keep in mind when drawing the body is the size of each part in relation to the others. Especially the larger body parts such as the head, main body, arms and legs. If the the proportions on these are incorrect the rest of your drawing won’t look right no matter how much effort you put into the smaller details.
